(IntegrityTimes.com) – Celebrity model Amber Rose has announced that she will be speaking at the Republican National Convention next week. The convention will take place from July 15 to 18 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Rose is a sometimes-controversial figure and has gone from publicly criticizing former president Donald Trump in 2016 to endorsing him in 2024. Besides modeling, Rose has published a motivational book, released or collaborated on rap tracks, and worked with various charitable organizations. She is also known for high profile relationships with rappers Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa.
Rose posted her endorsement of Trump for president on her Instagram page in May. The post featured a photo of Rose with Trump and former first lady Melania Trump. She has also posted pictures of herself with Trump’s classic MAGA slogan and used captions like Trump 2024. Her social media has also featured a short clip of Rose in the MAGA hat, showing off a big gold MAGA ring and wearing a necklace with a gold bust of Donald Trump as a pendant. The clip is from the new music video for the track Trump Trump Baby by rapper Forgiato Blow, which is supportive of Trump and critical of President Biden.
Soon after endorsing former president Trump, Rose made public comments regarding the guilty verdict in his New York hush money case. She believes the guilty verdict will ultimately help Trump, as the public will see the verdict as an injustice. Rose is not alone in her opinion that many Americans may regard Trump’s legal problems as targeted lawfare against a political rival. However, for Rose, this is a stark reversal from 2016, when she expressed hope that he would not become president, referring to Trump as weird and an idiot.
Outspoken and brash, Rose is unapologetic about her opinions and unafraid of controversy. She is also a self-avowed feminist and has often spoken of the importance of women’s rights. While some have expressed doubt, she has often used her fame to promote self-acceptance, body positivity, and empowerment of women. However, her notoriety is sure to garner attention, both positive and negative. Her choice to endorse Trump and appear at the convention have the effect of bringing more attention to the issues the Republicans wish to communicate.
