(IntegrityTimes.com) – With the release of her autobiography “MTG,” Georgia Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has been holding book signings while traveling around the country campaigning. The Osceola County GOP in Florida planned to hold an event on January 6 for Greene at the Westgate Resort in Kissimmee. However, the resort suddenly canceled the event in a January 4 email statement, writing that “it was not made aware of the purpose of this event.” Mark Cross, who chairs the county GOP and booked the event at the resort, said on January 5 that no one told him that the event was canceled, but that it would be no problem to find a different location.
The details of the event included different pricing packages for attendees, ranging from $45 to $1,000. Super VIP ticketholders get to meet and take photos with Greene. In addition, Super VIPs are invited to a private briefing about the events surrounding January 6, 2021, and the nation’s capital city. Cross said that Greene’s book contains details about that day and that the date it was scheduled was merely coincidental, as Greene had another event scheduled that morning in Florida. Cross also said that he had a feeling that local Democrats were behind the event cancelation.
Rep. Greene responded to the cancelation on X, formerly Twitter. She posted a video explaining that the event was still on but at a different location. She captioned the video with “Communist Democrats tried to shut down my book signing. They lost!” Greene blasted the Democrats for claiming that they are trying to defend democracy when their actions suggest otherwise. She said that they try to silence, cancel, and deplatform anyone who supports former President Trump, adding that seeking to remove him from the presidential primary ballot was actually an attempt to destroy our democracy. Greene told her followers that purchasing her book would be the best way to get back at the Democrats for attempting to cancel her.
