(IntegrityTimes.com) – Former President Donald Trump’s youngest child, Barron Trump was recently nominated. Republican Party in Florida selected the 18-year-old as one of its delegates to the Republican National Convention.
Evan Power, chairman of the Republican Party of Florida, announced that Barron will be serving as one of Florida’s 41 at-large delegates attending the national event. At the Convention the Republican party is set to officially confirm Donald Trump as its presidential candidate for the general election in November. Eric Trump, Tiffany Trump and Donald Trump Jr., Barron’s half-siblings, will also be attending the event as delegates. Ivanka Trump, who has distanced herself from politics following the 2020 election, will not be among the delegates and has publicly stated that she will have no involvement in her father’s 2024 election campaign.
After justice Juan Merchan, who is presiding over the former president’s Hush Money criminal trial in New York, ruled that Trump can attend his son’s graduation in Florida on May 17, it was reported that the party’s presumptive presidential candidate is scheduled to attend a Republican fundraiser in Minnesota on the same day of the event. Power said that they had a great team of “grassroots delegates”, and vowed to succeed in Florida and “win it big”. Trump already had plenty of backing among Florida’s Republicans, even when former rival and state Governor Ron DeSantis was running as a presidential candidate in the primary. According to polls, Trump is set to beat President Joe Biden by ten points in Florida. Eric Trump will chair the delegation at the Republican National Convention, which means he will formally submit his father’s name for the nomination.
According to a campaign official, Barron has a keen interest in the political process of the nation. His father was officially announced as the GOP’s presumptive presidential nominee on March 12. After being shielded from the public eye for years by his mother Melania, Barron has re-entered the spotlight due to his father’s concerns that Merchan would not let him skip a day in court to attend his son’s graduation from high school in Florida.
After some consideration, Barron Trump declined to accept the nomination as a delegate due to prior commitments.
