(IntegrityTimes.com) – In recent months, Pennsylvania Democratic Senator John Fetterman has made several comments that have left Democrats fuming and Republicans delighted. His latest surprising remark shocked his radical progressive followers, as he defended one of their archenemies. In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Fetterman defended Colorado Republican Representative Lauren Boebert’s 18-year-old son. Tyler Boebert is facing 22 charges, including five felonies, after his arrest on February 27. The charges stem from multiple property thefts and vehicle trespass, according to a Facebook post from the Rifle Police Department.
In his hotly debated post, Fetterman wrote that the online attacks on Tyler Boebert needed to stop. He wrote that “cruelty has substantial collateral damage,” adding that he knew how children were impacted when they were the subject of online discourse. He argued that children of politicians did not choose to be in the public spotlight. Republicans immediately shared Fetterman’s post and offered comments of appreciation. Democrats, on the other hand, repeated their robotic comments about Rep. Boebert. One user recommended that she resign from her position to take care of her son, while another posted a photo of Boebert with her kids posing with firearms for a Christmas photograph.
Others attacked Fetterman for making a fuss about Boebert’s son but not about the alleged genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. Fetterman’s support of Israel has turned far-left radical Democrats against him, many of whom contributed to his 2022 victory over Republican candidate Mehmet Oz. Others attempted to compare Republicans’ criticisms of Hunter Biden, although he is 54 years old. Rep. Boebert released a statement after her son’s arrest, noting that he has had to endure “very difficult, public challenges” at such a young age. She expressed sympathy for her son but also noted that he has had several chances to change course.
Rep. Boebert and her husband Jayson Boebert divorced last year but have had police-involved altercations since then. Back in January, Jayson Boebert was arrested for attacking and pulling a gun on Tyler Boebert. On February 27, he told the Daily Mail that he would support his son throughout the challenges he is facing.
